YANKEE SWAP - December 5, 2007

If you want to participate (not required -
you can just come knit and observe the fun!),
please bring a wrapped, unlabelled
knitting-related gift, valued at no less than $15 and no more than $20.

Of course, this means you'll have to scour yarn shops looking for that perfect gift!

Some spectacular yarn, a knitting tool, gadget or notion, knitting-themed jewelry
or clothing, a book or some patterns,
a knitting kit you make up yourself -
whatever you choose, just make sure
it has something to do with our art!

If you'd love to receive it, chances are another knitter would, too!

In case you've never participated in a Yankee Swap before,
here's how it works:

- Everyone draws a number when they bring a wrapped gift.

- The person with the lowest number goes first.  She (no male guild members yet!) chooses a gift and unwraps it.

- The person with the next number chooses and gift and unwraps it.  She can decide whether to keep her choice, or swap it for anything another guild member has already opened.

- Choosing and swapping continues until everything
has been opened.

- Finally, the person who picked first can choose to keep what they wound up with, or swap for any of the other items!

No hard feelings allowed - just fun!
