FELTING - October 1, 2008
 

Our October meeting will feature
a presentation on felting by Tia Pinney.

Tia taught the dyeing workshop at Drumlin Farm last year
and is also an extremely accomplished felter.

Tia will discuss the history of felting
as well as various felting techniques.

During her presentation, we will have the opportunity
to create something for ourselves to take home!

We will be felting around a bar of soap,
 which can then be used like a soap-embedded washcloth.

If you wish to participate in the project, please bring:

•   A new bar of soap

•   A bath towel you won't mind putting to work

•   A small plastic bag to put your creation in to take home
    as it will still be damp

We will have a supply of fiber on hand, but if anyone has any extra clean fiber or roving that you would like to bring in as well, it will be put to good use.  Fun colors or unusual animal hair would be great.
